In my current residence with my husband and six children, we find ourselves enveloped by lush green pastures and the bounties of nature. After completing my schooling, I pursued an apprenticeship in funeral directing and embalming. Fueled by a profound passion for the funeral service industry, I embarked on a journey to the United States at the age of 19, where I earned a degree and underwent professional training in Mortuary Science. During this time, my exploration led me to investigate sustainable methods for burial and cremation, seeking an end-of-life choice that was more environmentally friendly and sustainable than existing options. It was in the U.S. that I came across Resomation, also known as Water Cremation, Aquamation, or Alkaline Hydrolysis. Determined to introduce Resomation to Ireland, I set out on the challenging path of bringing this innovative and technology-driven approach to offer a greener, safer, and gentler alternative to traditional flame cremation or burial.
